Baillon Joins Panel on Mediating Sexual Harassment Claims; Nelson Schaffer Presents on Employee Discipline & Discharge

October 22, 2019 – Over the next week, firm partners Frances Baillon and Kaarin Nelson Schaffer will present at separate CLEs on important issues in employment law. On Friday, October 25th, Frances Baillon joins an esteemed panel of practitioners at the 22nd Annual Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute for a session on mediating sexual harassment claims. Titled “Playing with Fire: The Challenges of Mediating Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination Claims in the #MeToo and #TimesUp Culture,” Frances and the panel will explore the unique challenges plaintiff/defense employment counsel, in-house counsel, and mediators face when working to resolve these claims.

On Monday, October 28th, Kaarin Nelson Schaffer will present to employment litigators, in-house counsel and human resource professions at a Minnesota CLE conference on the “How-To’s” for investigating and addressing workplace performance and conduct. During her presentation entitled “Avoiding 10 Discipline and Discharge Mistakes Employers Make—A Plaintiff’s Attorney Perspective,” Kaarin will share her plaintiffs’-side experience to impart important lessons to employers handling discipline and discharge matters in the workplace.
