Gillette Presents at Workers’ Compensation Seminar

March 6, 2018 – Firm attorney Adam Gillette presented at the 2018 Workers’ Compensation Seminar hosted by the Minnesota Association for Justice. At the annual seminar, which was held on March 2nd, Adam discussed the employment law claims workers’ compensation practitioners should look for in their practice.

Employees who have been injured on the job often hire workers’ compensation attorneys to help them navigate the workers’ compensation system, file a claim and recover damages for their injuries. These employees may also have employment law claims arising from their work situation that are separate from the workers’ compensation system. Employees should contact an employment attorney to understand their rights.

At the seminar, Adam discussed the signs of workers’ compensation retaliation claims, as well as Family and Medical Leave Act claims, age discrimination, disability discrimination, reasonable accommodation and other claims that may accompany the employer’s treatment of the injured worker. His presentation included strategic considerations for practitioners and proactive steps to take to build the best case for their clients.
