Jozwiak Presents on Employment Law Essentials, Baillon Discusses Appellate Practice

March 15, 2018 – This week, firm partners Chris Jozwiak and Frances Baillon presented at separate CLE sessions to legal practitioners on key issues in employment law. On Monday, Chris presented to members of the Minnesota Association for Justice on the “Top 10 Things to Know about Employment Law.” Addressing workers’ compensation lawyers, personal injury attorneys and other legal practitioners, Chris discussed the important employment law issues facing employees, what attorneys should look for when talking to their clients and the types of evidence necessary to prove unlawful discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment and other employment-related legal claims.

Also this week, Frances presented to members of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (MN-NELA) on “Appellate Practice in Employment Law Cases.” Frances joined panelists Steve Smith, Brad Lindeman and Leslie Lienemann to discuss key issues in handling appeals in state and federal courts and provide insights for the best strategies for winning appeals, writing briefs, arguing to the court, dos and don’ts on appeal and amicus curiae participation.
